The first thing the user sees when they make a selection is the ‘Security Screen.’ By virtue of their sign on ID, StoreReport knows exactly what the user is allowed to do. If authorized, the user is allowed to change the store number that they are allowed to access. They cannot get access to any other company’s data. Even though all of our customers share the same computer, it is impossible for one customer to get into another company’s data. AS/400 has something called “Logical Partitions” that allows one AS/400 to be individual servers located on the same computer.
AS/400 is infinitely expandable. Configured correctly, an AS/400 computer system could support every convenience store and oil marketer in the United States and still have room for growth. Our centralized database environment is what is needed to solve the problems of Business-To-Business connectivity much needed by the industry today. It is impossible to use client/server technology in this fashion.
StoreReport not only includes convenience store programs, but a complete oil marketing system (not covered here) as well.
Each client may have 9,999 remote stores in each of 99 separate corporations.
