In the Create Daily Summaries function, we pull all the shifts together and produce a kind of on-screen store report. A handy calculator functions assists the operator in checking what the computer has against any paperwork that might be available. At anytime before the day is closed, the operator may go back through the shifts until he/she is satisfied with the results. For our demonstration, we have entered only one shift, but from 1-27 shifts may be involved in a single day’s business. Many small operators will enter only one shift for each day. |

Once the operator is happy with the results obtained from this screen, he/she may press the F24 (Shift-F12) key to close the day. The operator is given one last chance to change their mind. Once the second F-24 has been entered, the day is closed and normally, the store operator cannot re-access the day from that point on. |

The next step “View Transfer Daily Summaries” is usually a function performed by an office employee. Our experience has shown that a single office employee can view and pass along from 65 to 120 summaries in an 8 hour day. |
